day thirty-five: pita pit

July 2, 2011 § Leave a comment

There’s really not much to say about the Pita Pit that the name doesn’t cover. The pitas here are the pits. The meat tastes like rubber and the vegetables like each other, but both of these get lost in the utter blandness of the pita’s pit. The pita itself, too, is like a pit, a gravel pit, a dirt pit, take your pick of any variety of dry tasteless pit. The pita is a pit into which flavor disappears, never to reappear. The pita pit is the the thing you spit out after you eat everything else around it.

And, for the record, unrelated to pits, the wall decorations are downright creepy. I don’t trust anywhere that has for its mascot a pita that looks like its on PCP. And don’t know what on earth googly-eyed turkeys have to do with the theme at all.
